Mid Week Devotional With Chris Chase

"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions." (Proverbs 10:12) We should try to always be encouraging to others. We should be saying things like, "I accept you as you are. I believe you are valuable. I care when you hurt. I desire only what is best for you. I forgive you." I don't know anyone that would turn his or her back on such magnetic, encouraging statements. There is nothing shallow about authentic love. It's not a magic wand that can be whipped out and waved over a problem, hoping all pain will go away. But real love has staying power. Authentic love is tough love. It refuses to look for ways to run away . . . it always opts for working through. It does not cop out just because the sea gets stormy and rough. True love is fibrous and resilient. While the world around us gives opposite advice, love stands firm!
